Detoxing, like raw food diet, is not just for the celebrities who abuse pain relievers anymore. Brand new evidence has shown that virtually everyone needs detox – not necessarily for drug use, but to scrub out the colon, blood system, liver, as well as other organs which have been accumulating potentially dangerous amounts of unhealthy matter over the years. A lot of people are bouncing on the detox diet bandwagon, and for good reason, too.
With the preservatives, hormones, air pollutants, pesticide sprays, and even fat (think junk food) that enters our bodies every day, it just makes sense to wash the temple every once in awhile. You wouldn’t go without washing the house for very long, and you should not go very long without cleaning out your body, either.
Here are 3 delicious recipes for cleansing diets from a holistic lifestyle coach. Give them a try if you wish to help detox your system and/or lose a few pounds:
1) Veggie Broth
• A head of healthy broccoli
• A cup of fresh spinach leaves
• A cup of celery
• A container full of sterilized water
Simply cut up the veggies into tiny pieces. Arrange them in the container of water, cover, and bring them to a full boil. Then, decrease the warmth to a simmer and let all those nutrients seep out of those vegetables into the water. Right after about thirty minutes, strain the concoction. Throw out the vegetables, and consume the broth. Yummy plus a good digestive tract cleanser!
2) Tomato-based Delicious Detoxification Soup
• A pot of purified water
• A head of green cabbage
• Two medium green peppers (or one large and one small)
• One onion
• Three stalks of celery
• Three carrots
• One-third to one-half of a pound of organic or frozen green beans
• 1 or two cans of diced tomatoes or tomato gravy
Cut the cabbage into strips. Cut the peppers to bite-size bits or smaller if you prefer. Cut up the onion, celery, and carrots in to pieces of the same size. Put together the green beans.
Some people will say to put the ingredients to the water just a little at a time, beginning with the “hardest” vegetables first. I find that unnecessary. Simply throw all the vegetables into the container of water, cover, and bring to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and permit the soup to simmer for several hours. Enjoy!
3) Lemon and Citrus “Tea” Detoxification Recipes
Lemon is rapidly becoming a favorite detoxification ingredient, probably because of its large citric acid content, vitamin C density, and abundance of bioflavonoids. Besides for all these benefits, there’s something which is generally pleasing about the lemon, don’t you think? Lemon furniture polish still brings back childhood memories of helping my mom dust the living room furniture, my dishwashing detergent is lemon scented, and lemonade on a sizzling day – are you kidding? It gets no better than that.
• A glass of grapefruit drink
• The juice of one large lemon
• 2 teaspoons of olive oil
• One to 2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil
• Optional – a clove of crushed garlic
• Optional – divide the juices to half a glass of grapefruit and half glass of orange
• A scoop of your favorite protein powder from the nutrition store
Just combine the above ingredients within your mixer and drink. Try to drink it on an empty stomach; maybe the very first thing each morning, and be ready to be cleansed out.
Raw food diet and recipes for detoxification diets are a sure and rapid approach to help clean your digestive tract out in general. Nevertheless, it is important for you to stick to the directions carefully and only utilize for the amount of time that is ideal.
