New York is trying to say no to soda. Well, they are trying to say “No, if you use food stamps, you can’t buy soda”.I remember that there were many people angry that they weren’t able to buy alcohol or cigarettes with government money any more, it’s similar now. There is a side of me that thinks this could be a great thing for the country!Lose the diebetes causing stuff and start getting people healthy! The other side of me is not sure how to feel about it. Should the government be making such a decision on what people can or cannot eat? Is it really making that decision for them?
I want to get a discussion going about this to get other people’s points of view.Think this will go through and Soda will be off the food stamp books??What do you think other places that have tried to get this passed before will do?? San Fancisco just banned the happy meal too. Is that where this is heading, no sugary drinks for anyone?
If that is the case i say this is a horrible idea. People should have the right to choose what they eat. I’ve seen the food pyramid and the government’s idea of a balanced diet. No thank you Sir, i will stick with my high protein and good fats, you can keep your bread and processed grains. I’ll keep my abs too. The agricultural subsidies in this country may have caused the obesity epidemic, because the only way to feed so many people for so cheap was to grow vast amounts of corns and grains. They had to figure out a way to use it all, and an unfortunate side effect is that all those carbs lead to alot of fat and unhealthy people.
What do you all think about this? Should this regulation go through or not?
Eat Well, Be Well.
Thanks for Watching
