George was a creature of habit. If truth be told, he went a little overboard with his routine. If he didn’t stick with his usual pattern, he felt off for the rest of the day. The first thing he did in the morning was put on his nioxin intensive therapy recharging complex. There was nothing wrong with that. The stuff worked wonders.
It was just that life was becoming so hum drum for him. He knew something was wrong, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Strengthening his routine certainly wasn’t helping matters Finally, on a bright sunshiney Saturday morning, it dawned on him.
George went through his usual shower and replenishing formula routine. Afterwards, he made his usual meal of bacon, eggs, toast and juice. On this particular morning, though, he just didn’t enjoy it. It bothered him, but he just put it down to a lack of appetite or something. He then brushed his teeth as he always did, directly after eating.
He always had his weekend clothes laid out and ready to wear. This Saturday was no exception. He put on his pants, his shirt and his brown socks. Then he reached down and grabbed his brown boot – the right one, as usual.
He almost absentmindedly began to put on the boot, but then he had a change of hear. ‘I’m going to put on my left boot first this morning, ‘ he thought. After he made that simple change in his routine, it was as if a whole new world opened up to him. He had options!
Part of George’s regular Saturday routine included going to the same diner and ordering the same large meal for lunch. Since he wasn’t a very active man, this part of his routine had made him put on some extra pounds. George decided to do something about it at last. Instead of going to the diner, he went for a nice walk instead and vowed to stick to it as part of a weight loss regimen.
George continues to be a creature of routine, but now his routine is so much healthier than it was before. As an added bonus, he eats a health food lunch every Saturday morning with his new girlfriend, instead of alone at a diner!
