Getting Fit The Fast And Fun Way

Why doesn’t anybody ever keep their New Year’s resolution? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they don’t really want to, even from the beginning. If they did want to keep them, they would keep them. Are you one of those people? Did you tell yourself you were going to work on your muscle growth and then did nothing about it?

‘I really do want to get strong and fit, ‘ you say in protest. Sure you do. The trouble is, you don’t want to make yourself suffer for it. You don’t have to suffer for it. Working out should be and can be fun.

Some people like pumping iron, others don’t. If you’re one of those, you need to find a form of physical exercise that’s fun. Then you’ll find fitness will come easily.

Do whatever it is you like to do. If it happens to be swimming, then go swimming. However, don’t make swimming your ‘resolve.’ Just go for a leisurely swim. If you find yourself tempted to force yourself to swim twenty laps, lower the limit to one or two. After you’ve finished two laps, you’ll probably want to do more. Go ahead if you want to, but be sure you leave the pool happy and looking forward to your next swim – not grimly determined.

This may be a very different approach to fitness than you’ve heard about before, but it works for a lot of people. On the other hand, a lot of people never take up jogging, for instance, because they set their goals too high. Just jog for a few yards or as long as you feel like it at first. Then walk and jog again when you feel the urge. Before long, you’ll find that you really enjoy jogging.

Almost everybody loves to ride a bike and bicycles are a fantastic way to get fit. That doesn’t mean you have to go out and buy a top of the line Schwinn mountain bike, though. Wait till you’ve taken a few spins around the park on a rented bike. Keep it casual and before long, you’ll be speeding down a mountain track.

Don’t do what so many people do and go out and buy every dietary supplement there is. When you’re starting out, a balanced diet and perhaps an herbalifeline will be more than enough.

That’s quite a different approach to fitness than the furrowed brow and grim determination method, isn’t it? Think about it, though. Shouldn’t fitness be fun? You’ll find that it is fun and only becomes more fun the fitter you get. So don’t make a vow to get fit, just get out and enjoy yourself and fitness will come.
