Acai Berries, Capsules Or Juice: Which Is Best?

Acai berries by themselves seem pretty unimpressive: they’re small, grape-like, and dark colored. Barely the stuff of the health food story that’s going around making this small berry out to be some variety of superhero among health foods. But the fact is, acai berries are remarkably good for you! Weight loss not withstanding, they turbo-charge your metabolism, make your skin and hair feel and look better, give you more energy and have heaps of great things which make your body feel lighter, faster and better altogether.

The thing is, besides the natural berries themselves, there are tons of other forms that you can get Acai extracts in. The debate that’s in focus at this time though, is what’s best, juice, berry or capsule? Here one or two reasons for and against each of those forms, to help decide what will work the best for your lifestyle:

Juice:
Acai berry juice is convenient and easy since you can just substitute it for your breakfast glass of juice. It is also a great way to rehydrate in the daytime. Juice also tastes good, and is often combined with other fruit juices which will give you the nutrition of more than one fruit all in the same bottle. However, some users say that the added preservatives aren’t to their liking.

Berries:
The berries are easily available but also spoil quickly. The benefit of purchasing the simple acai berry is you can use it in recipes of your own (try this recipe), by combining acai berries with other fruits in a salad, or making a creative use of them in cupcakes, puddings, crepes, smoothies and breakfast cereal mixes. The difficulty with berries is they damage simply and as asserted before, they spoil quickly also. Frozen berries are available though, should you want to try the fruit in its natural form.

Capsules:
Acai capsules are certainly convenient, as you can take one regardless of where you are. If you don’t like the taste of the berries (and there are some who don’t) or the juice, or want to avoid the preservatives in juice, then capsules are a nice option. Some capsules contain additional chemical substances though, which if you do not want them, you should check what they are to avoid them. Pure acai berry extract capsules are available nevertheless if this option seems the best one for you.

The thing to make sure of is that the product you’re buying, whether or not it is in any of the forms mentioned above, is 100% pure acai. There are far too many folk who’ve found out that what they paid good money for isn’t essentially doing them any good. But if you stick to credible sites and stores, with accreditation and some standing in the marketplace, then you should be able to find a good source for all your acai berry requirements.
